EHS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

Minutes

President Carol Gossett-Cooper called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.  Present were Carol Gossett-Cooper, Arlene Becken, Glen Morrow, Glenda Kirkpatrick, Connie Goins, Marilyn Lorenzen and Cammi Veenstra.  The Minutes and Financial Statement from April 23, 2007 were read and approved.  Connie Goins made the approval motion which was seconded by Glenda Kirkpatrick.

OLD BUSINESS:  Once again, our focus is to generate new meeting attendees!!!!  It is election of officer time and it is beginning to be a vicious circle, not that we don’t appreciate the work our current officers are doing ~ we just desperately need some new blood involved in the Association.  The meeting ad was placed in the Messenger Index and to no avail it was messed up and not printed.  The EHS Alumni website was discussed as to the activity and new hits we were receiving.  I suppose Skip Hayes will update us on that as soon as he posts these minutes to the website.  It was also discussed that per Tammi Whiteley (counselor at EHS) our scholarship applications will go back to the original application that was submitted by the Alumni.  For some reason all scholarship applicants were given generic forms to submit and it was a major flop.  In 2008 all applications will be submitted on the Alumni’s original application, which was wonderful news for us!

NEW BUSINESS:

Election of new officers are as follows:

President – Cammi Veenstra

Vice President – Arlene Becken

Sec/Treasurer – Connie Goins

1 new Board Member – Marilyn Lorenzen

Cammi Veenstra announced that the scholarship money awarded to Maigan Walker was returned to us by University of Idaho since Maigan did not attend school.  Glen Morrow made a motion to let the funds sit until next year (2008) and the Alumni will award an extra scholarship then.  Motion was seconded by Glenda Kirkpatrick.

Connie Goins will once again make the room reservation and reminder calls to officers for next years meeting, which will be held April 28, 2008 @ 7:00 pm @ Emmett High School.

Arlene Becken made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:40 pm, seconded by Glenda Kirkpatrick.
