You are here: Classes » 1977 » Grads » 30 Years Later » Bill Saxton Bill Saxton Unfortunately I will not be able to attend our 30 year reunion due to prior commitments but thought I would write a few lines to let those that might be interested know what I have been up to for the last 30 years. After graduation, I continued to work for Gem Supply Coop there in good old Emmett Idaho. In the fall of 1979 I went to Fairbanks Alaska for a weeks vacation and ended up staying until the Fall of 1983. While in Fairbanks I was employed as a cook. Amazing when you consider I still cannot cook to this day. Well, that is not true, I make a killer grilled cheese sandwich! I moved to Seattle Washington in Aug. of 1983 where I completed airline school and was consequently hired by Alaska Airlines. I worked various positions for them until I took advantage of their early retirement option in 1997. I then started work for The Boeing Company where I am still currently employed. I have been fortunate enough to even survive the multiple layoffs that Boeing is famous for. I work in their computing security environment which allows me to work from home all but a couple days per month. This is very advantageous as my commute consists of driving 10 miles to the nearest ferry, then taking a 40 minute ferry ride to Seattle and then a 30 mile drive to my office. I live in the small town of Olalla, Wa. which is on the Kitsap Peninsula. It is about the size of Ola. I own a small 16 acre farm where I raise show poultry, Quarter and Paint horses as well as miniature Dexter cattle. I also still read any spare moment I have. Yes, I am still a book worm. Hope to see you all at the next reunion, Bill |
