Where have I been? Well… I dropped out of EHS just before graduation (sometimes one thinks they know better but…) and on April fools, 1977 flew off to Navy boot camp in San Diego.  After boot camp I came back in June to marry my high school sweetheart Barbara Brown.  The Navy took us to California and we raised 3 children, Michael, Michelle, and Melinda.  They’re all grown now, married and successful in their own lives.  The Navy helped me get some education and I graduated with a Masters degree just before retiring at 20+ years in the Navy in November 1997.

We decided to stay in the San Diego area supporting the world’s best Navy as a contractor for Naval Communications acquisition.

Some of the worst days of my life were fighting Breast Cancer along side of Barbara through various treatments.  The best day is yet to come knowing that I will see her again.  Until then, she rests in the Emmett Cemetery in the Northwest corner.

Our children live in the San Diego area, except for Mike who is serving in the Army, 10 years so far, and is currently stationed in Texas.  As grace would have it, I found love again and married a friend of 20 years and together we have 6 children.  Yes, a Brady bunch…luckily they are all grown and the 2 youngest 22-year-old girls are getting pushed through college.  Want to see the brood?  It’s all at http://myspace.com/weichiki

Sorry I couldn’t make a September appearance, however, I did get some fishing in up at Garden Valley in July this year.  Hope y’all have a great time at the reunion.  Take Care…Ed
