You are here: Classes » 1977 » Grads » 30 Years Later » Randi (Stroud) Avery Randi (Stroud) Avery Wow – 30 years already. As cliché as it sounds, time does indeed fly. Haven’t done anything significant in the past 30 years, you know – cured diseases or solved any world issues. Just lived life. Married right out of high school, divorced 3 years later. Lived between Emmett and Boise there for a time. Moved to Nevada at the coaxing of another classmate, Toddi (Kendall) Mellathin. And boy, did we have a lot of fun in this 24 hour state! Met and married my husband, David, here in Nevada and settled into marital bliss (or something like that!). We have two children – Lauryn, who is 20, and Josh, who is 18, both students at University of Nevada, Reno. Lauryn is a junior studying psychology; Josh is a freshman studying philosophy. I’ve held a variety of different jobs over the years – worked in banking for many years, then in the wholesale foodservice business between secretarial and customer service positions. Then on to an insurance underwriter, to an office manager for a distribution firm, to a real estate agent, and to most recently, a marketing associate for a wholesale foodservice distributor. Kind of full circle. Will be semi-retiring early September to be a full time caregiver to my husband, who is afflicated with ALS-Lou Gehrig’s disease. Words of wisdom – treasure every moment, for we know not what tomorrow will bring. Wish I could be there with you all! |
