You are here: Classes » 1977 » Grads » 30 Years Later » Wayne & Janet (Butticci) Hays Wayne & Janet (Butticci) Hays It is amazing how fast 10 years can speed by however wonderful events have graced our lives since the 20th class reunion. Our son graduated, married and gave us two wonderful granddaughters: Kayla Rose (Bud) and Kaitlyn Grace Hays. Because they live close by, they stay with us on our ranchette typically every other weekend. Both are horse crazy cowgirls; which is all Wayne’s doing. The ranchette consists of our home which is a log cabin built by Wayne and me, a barn and of course; horse stables. Surrounded by 10 acres of assorted oak trees; it is extremely peaceful and quiet. We have 3 horses, two dogs, a cat and assorted critters that need feeding. We are able to fish for catfish and blue gill in the tank (which is a pond for you northerners). Wayne has continued to work for the City of College Station and is the lead traffic technician; keeping traffic flowing in the small metropolis of over 50,000. On a football weekend it jumps up to over 150,000 cars. He takes care of the horses, the ranchette, granddaughters and me. My 28 yr career in banking ended two years ago. I was the Vice President and Call Center Manager for an independent bank in Texas that was acquired by Citigroup. After laying off my staff and closing my call center, I knew it was time for a change of pace. I joined Bryan Texas Utilities as their Call Center Trainer. While searching for a new billing software program for the utility company, I was offered a job at a local software company. I took the software job and find it interesting and quite different than banking. Besides being the 30th class reunion for the Class of 77, this year also marks our 30th wedding anniversary. It is remarkable to look back 30 years at how young we were and learning; then fast forward to today and see how enriched our lives have become growing together. We look forward to seeing y’all in September.
