You are here: Classes » 1989 Class of '89 The Class of ’89 started out in 1985 as timid freshman in the very crowded halls of the old high school. Sharing the building with the junior high was extremely better than double shifting! Better yet, a bond was passed for the new high school! Class officers for the freshman year were Wendy White, President; John Sarco, Vice President; Kerri Nicholson, Secretary; Heather White, Treasurer; and Sudi Behrmann and Susy Heeb, Representatives. Our experiences with Homecoming floats leave much to be desired. Our freshman float fell apart on 4th and Washington, so everyone sat on it to keep it together. That year, our float received fourth place. As freshman, we learned a lot about parties and semester finals and Ted Reeder learned to avoid BIG seniors with big rolls of duct tape. As Sophomores, we were still sharing E.H.S, but our class started coming together with an overwhelming amount of school spirit, under the new leadership of Cassie Goff, President; Stacy Shaw, Vice President; Heather White, Secretary; Jennifer Jensen, Treasurer; and Susy Heeb and Wendy White, Representatives. Once again, our tremendous luck with floats. Someone broke in to the location of our float and did damage to a Z-28 that was being stored there. Money from the prom was taken away to pay for the damage. However, we did receive 2nd place for our float. The J.V. Boys basketball team won district championship that year and Ted Reeder was by then streaking down the gym in a cheerleading uniform. When our Junior year rolled around, the Class of ’89 finally made it into “The Domes”. Encircled by new surroundings and old faces, we started new traditions. Leaders of our class were Wendy White, President; Stacy Shaw, Vice President; Jennifer Jensen, Secretary; Sudi Behrmann, Treasurer; and Heather White and Susy Heeb, Representatives. Killing Bishop Kelly at Homecoming and then taking 3rd place in the float competition started our Junior year off with a bang. Desperate for money, our class sold everything from cake raffle tickets to Christmas trees and finally made enough to put on a fantastic prom. We ended the year with the prom, “Never Say Goodbye”, which was appropriate because we lost a very dear friend in 1988, Bobby Stamp, who we will NEVER forget. Once again, Ted Reeder streaked across the gym, but this time in red heart underwear. Now we only dreamed of being Seniors!! Finally, we are Seniors! The leaders of our beautiful, new school were Wendy White, President; Stacy Shaw, Vice President; Jennifer Jensen, Secretary; Ernie Campos, Treasurer; and Rupert Pulido, Secretary of Organizations. Our class was lead by Kevin Beard, President; Sudi Behrmann, Vice President; Heather White, Treasurer; Kristi Fisher, Secretary; and Janel Whitely and Tina Thomas, Representatives. Homecoming Festivities were great thanks to Mr. Hyslop and Mrs. White and Mrs. Welberg. The Powder Puff game was scoreless, but the seniors played the best, and therefore, we won! Graciela Quijas won Homecoming Queen, our float won 2nd place, and the seniors won the spirit trophy! The Class of ’89 has certainly had its share of good times and bad, but through it all, has stayed together. “Seniors, how do you feel??” Tearful, sad, and happy we will go our separate ways. With our great ambition and the ability to excel, the Class of ’89 will be successful in whatever they do. Remember, it is not “goodbye”, it is “see you later,” Think of this saying, “We remember yesterday, we love today, and we live for tomorrow.” Class colors: Metallic Blue and Silver Class Flower: Red Rose Class Motto: In growing we have shared. |
